About "Nexxus"

No, she was not named after the shampoo :-) Nexxus means connection. Nexxus to E means a Connection to Enzo. Nexxus is a confident, social, dog with extreme drives. Kamikazee entries, not equipment oriented. Although her drives are extreme in the work, she has an "off switch" and can come home and relax into an excellent house dog. High reactivity, but with unusual stability for her reactivity level. The vast majority of Malinois I have met with her level of reactivity aren't completely stable environmentally/socially but are covering up poor nerve with their drive. Nexxus is very stable out of drive. Biddable, she wants to work with her handler. She loves her toys and her food, and has genetically full grips. Very nice structure and movement, with minimal white. After having lived with her for awhile, I've come to the conclusion she is also part mountain goat. She LOVES to climb up on things, the higher the better.
After having worked with Cali in herding for awhile, I decided I would really like to raise a pup with herding as the main focus. See how things turn out if I do herding first, instead of doing EVERYTHING else possible, then herding last. Nexxus became that pup. And so far she's doing very well, surpassing even Cali in terms of her herding skills (she drives much better). She's breezed through the intermediate and advanced level AKC titles earning each title in 3 trials (takes 3 legs for a title). We are now working on AHBA titles, and possibly points towards an AKC herding championship.
Nexxus took a couple years off from herding around 2010 to have a litter and do some agility, Schutzhund, AKC obedience and flyball. We returned to herding in 2012 but will return to Schutzhund and obedience at some point to finish some titles.
Nexxus trains at Action K9 with Terry Parrish for herding, Schutzhund with North County Sch Club, flyball with WeBeFlyin and agility at Ups-n-Downs Agility Club.
