Sin, whose puppy name was CJ (Chaos Junior), is the littlest pup in the litter, but what she lacks in size she more than makes up for in spunk. Outgoing, inquisitive, the first pup to make it to the back fence of the property during their first trip outside, CJ is also very human oriented and loves to cuddle. Many a nap was taken in the recliner with CJ laying on my shoulder/neck. She does her best to beat up her siblings, although they generally wondered what the little fly on their back was, especially Bruiser. :-P
On June 2, 6.5 weeks old, CJ disappeared. She was outside for an hour with her siblings for some play time, with Cali and Chaos babysitting. Unknown to me, a next door neighbor who raises doves had a bird of prey (hawk??) hanging around his house waiting for a shot at one of his doves. He chased it off, and it's my belief that it came over to my property, saw an opportunity, and took CJ. With the adult dogs nothing else, human or animal, could have gotten into the yard to grab a pup and made it back out safely. After searching for hours that evening, and the next day, this is the only logical conclusion to her disappearance.
But, I was wrong. On June 7, 5 days later, Kelson came inside and asked if all the pups were in the house. They were. He had found a female pup running around the back yard chasing Chaos and trying to nurse. Little CJ is back. Fat and sassy, none the worse for the wear, I now believe that somehow it was a two legged predator that took her, and for some reason then returned her.
Sin is maturing into a solid, medium sized female with high drives, full grips, focused/intense tracking and a strong/stable personality. She's training in Schutzhund and will hopefully begin trialing in 2009.
