Foster Freeze (formerly known as Foster the Flesh-Eating Dog

In May 2005, RCHS asked me to evaluate this 3 yo ACD. They weren’t sure if he was a bad dog or just had been put in the wrong situations. I took him home for a trial, he did well, and I decided to “foster” him until I could find him a performance home. Shortly after, I decided that he could be in MY performance home. As soon as I adopted him, he ripped up 2 of my dogs, nearly took off my nail and finger. Visit #1 to ER. A couple months later, he took a chunk out of my arm. Visit #2 to ER. In the meantime, he was learning Flyball with our team. We just couldn’t let him near any other dogs or he would go ballistic!

In December 2005, I packed him and my 3 other dogs up to my house in Canada where he and I went to dog classes 4 times a week with an awesome trainer. My vet up there discovered that Foster had 2 bad canines. After surgery and lots of $$, he became a new dog. Seems that he had been in excruciating pain for about 2 years. He now gets along with all dogs, obeys perfectly (almost), and will be running flyball on our team next season. I’m so proud!!

I still think that dental surgeon did a lobotomy…
